Bowo was one of the officers of the SWAT Unit led by Sergeant Jaka and Lieutenant Wahyu. He was involved on the ill-fated raid on Tama Riyadi's narcotic cartel holdout. He was one of the few survivors of the raid, along with Lieutenant Wahyu and his colleague Rama.

The Raid: Redemption[]

Bowo was the second-in-command of the S.W.A.T team sent to raid Tama Riyadi's holdout. During the initial raid of the building, he can be seen receiving orders from Sergeant Jaka, who orders him to take a certain sector within a part of the squad. However, Tama was alerted of their presence in the building, and sent men after the 20-man squad to attack them.

After most of the 20-man squad was killed in the attack, the remaining officers, Rama, Bowo, Jaka, Wahyu, Dagu, Alee, Hanggi, and another unnamed officer retreated to an empty apartment, and are cornered by more of Tama's armed thugs. Rama uses an axe to create a hole in the floor so the remaining officers could descend to the lower level. Dropping to the room below, the team struggles to fend off Tama's thugs, resulting in Alee, Hanggi, and the unnamed officer killed in the process, with Bowo gravely wounded after being shot in the abdomen and ear by one of Tama's men. As more reinforcements arrived, the team split into two groups, Jaka, Dagu and Wahyu retreat to the fifth floor while Rama, along with Bowo ascend.

After fighting most of the gangs, Rama and Bowo locate Gofar's apartment, with Gofar reluctantly hiding Bowo inside his apartment. Tama's men, who were wielding machetes, attempt to search the apartment for Rama and Bowo, but failed to find them. After tending to Bowo's wounds, Rama leaves to search for Jaka, Dagu and Wahyu. Bowo is not seen for the rest of the movie until the end, when he is finally rescued by Rama along with Lieutenant Wahyu out of the building.

The Raid 2: Berandal[]

Hours after the eponymous raid, Lieutenant Bunawar brings the three surviving officers into his office, including Bowo. Bunawar notices his critical state, and has his men send Bowo away to receive medical attention. Bowo tells Rama to be careful, before he left and was escorted out by Bunawar's men. He is no longer seen in the movie, and Bowo's fate is uncertain.

However, his fate is revealed in a deleted scene, where Bowo and his wife was attacked by one of Reza's henchmen. His wife is murdered, and Bowo is left crawling on the floor as the unknown assailant stands behind him next to his dead wife, shooting him numerous times in the back. Bowo is then finally killed, as he is shot in the head. After Andi's funeral, Rama is informed by Bunawar that Bowo is dead, however this scene was also deleted. Since his death is a scene that was cut from the original movie, it is unknown whether or not Bowo's death could be considered canon.

Trivia[]

  • Bowo is one of the two surviving police officers of the first film's eponymous raid, along with Rama (assuming Bowo's death scene is non-canon.)
    • Bowo's deleted scene (alongside with few scenes) was probably deleted for interfering with the film's pacing and length issues.
